Here is a little history about me! I graduated as Valedictorian from J.B. Pennington High School in Blountsville, Alabama in May of 2010 with a Presidential Scholarship to Wallace State Community College. I graduated from WSCC with my Associate's in Science in 2012 and a transfer scholarship to JSU. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and with English Honors from Jacksonville State University with my Bachelor's in Secondary English Education in May of 2015. I taught 7th Journalism, 9th Pre-AP ELA, 10th Journalism, 11th AP Language and Composition, and 12th ELA in my first year at Winterboro High School in the Talladega County School system. I came to Glencoe in 2016 and I instantly fell in love with the close-knit community and the wonderful students of Glencoe High School. I’m absolutely proud to say that I’m a GHS Yellow Jacket! I married the love of my life, Alex, on July 13, 2017 and we currently reside in Southside with our two puppy beagles named Boomer and Tux. Boomer and Tux My ultimate goal as an educator is to help my students - whether it's through writing about how they feel, digging deeper into a piece of literature, debating on real world topics, or simply figuring out what they want to do with their future - grow into avid readers, thinkers, communicators, and future citizens of the world.
