School History

Glencoe High School is nestled in the small town of Glencoe, Alabama, located on the Southeastern border of Etowah County. Our school mascot is the yellow jacket. The school colors are black and gold. Glencoe High School Opened in 1918, supplementing a grammar school that had existed in the area for many years. A second high school was built in 1959, the same year that Glencoe Elementary was established as a second school. Our current building was completed in 2006. We now have approximately 277 students enrolled in our school. We are very proud of our student body, faculty, administration, and personnel.
