Important Dates


This is a reminder that the Early Action deadline is about 2 weeks away!! Please make sure any student interested in applying for Early Action submit their online application, official high school transcript, and official ACT/SAT test scores by November 1st.

 

·         Application- It consists of 1 essay and 2 short answer questions à auburn.edu/apply

o   If students have forgotten their login information, please have them email meThey do not need to start another application.

·         Test Scores- We only look at the highest composite score per student and scores must be sent from the testing agency. We also don’t need the writing portion.

·         Transcripts- An official high school transcript can be mailed or sent electronically (Parchment, Naviance, National Clearing House, SCOIR, etc.). We use the weighted and cumulative GPA from 9th-11th grades.

Competitive applicants generally fall between a 25-30 ACT and a 3.5-4.1 GPA. Please have students falling below this contact me before they submit an application.

 

Early Action decisions will go out December 1st. Students can check their application status online. Accepted students then have 2 weeks to apply for scholarships before December 15th. Accepted students will also have access to the on-campus housing application in early December. Please feel free to share the following timeline with your students.

*Students must be accepted during Early Action to apply for scholarships. Students accepted during Regular Decision are unable to apply for scholarships as a freshmen. Therefore, all freshmen scholarship eligible students must apply for Early Action.

The PSAT/NMSQT is October 16th, 2019

It will be given here on GHS campus.
The cost is $17 and is due September 17th.
Any 9th, 10th, 11th grade student can take the exam.
Only 11th grade scores can qualify for National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist status. 
Taking it in the 9th and 10th grade can be good preparation for the 11th grade year for students who are strong test takers that are willing to apply his/herself.
