Welcome To My Page!
My name is Karen Patterson Cothran.  I graduated from Hokes Bluff High School in 1997.  I then graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2001 with a B.S. in Collaborative Teaching grades K-12.  I taught K-6 for one year at Maine Elementary School in Rome, GA.  This is the beginning of my 19th year teaching at Glencoe High School.  I am married to Mason Cothran and we have three amazing young men; Cole-18, Conner-15, and Carter 12 years old.  I graduated December 12, 2015 from UAB in English Second Language. I love my job and I am an advocate for my students.  During the 2014-2015 school year, I was awarded the Greater Etowah Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities and then received the award for the state of Alabama's Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities and had the privilege to meet with Governor Bentley. I just finished up my 5th year coaching girls and boys Varsity Cross Country. Also, if you are interested in applying for Peer Helpers or joining Junior Civitans please stop by and see me!
